Obsessions Linky Party

I have a confession...  I have several obsessions!  I have joined the Linky Party over at Living a Wonderful Life.

Obsession 1- Organization in my classroom, especially children's literature.  I have the majority of my books organized by theme.  However, this year I started leveling books so my students could read on level during Daily 5.  I am rereading the Daily 5 book AGAIN, and wondering if I need to work on "Good Fit" books a bit more and then keep all the books by theme.  Any thoughts?

Obsession 2- Blog Hopping Stalking.  Let's be honest.  Many hours are spent on the computer searching for ideas and inspiration.  I don't watch tv (except General Hospital-that could be a whole other obsession!) so this is my nightly passtime.  I have finally jumped into blog world and now add that to my list of guilty pleasures.

Obsession 3- The color red.  From my classroom to my house, to everything in between, I LOVE red!  Brighton jewerly, Brighton pocketbooks, red paint, clothes... You name it, its RED! Looking for a classroom theme other than ladybugs that centers on RED.  Thoughts???

Obsession 4- Diet Coke -especially fountain drinks.  Heaven on Earth:)

  1. Found your blog through the linky party (I linked up, too).

I was thinking about your favorite color and your struggle to find a theme for your classroom that's not ladybugs...what about apples? lol.

I can't think of anything else besides flowers. :( I definitely see what you mean about it being hard to think of something!

It was fun visiting your blog. :)

  3. Great obsessions! I love the way you organize your books. I was also thinking apples...or maybe red/white stripes or chevron. Just an idea! I'm your newest follower...love your blog.

Come by and visit me sometime.

    Take care!

  4. I LOVE GH! And as far as themes you could do black and white polka dots with red daisies as the accent. Or a picnic theme with red and white checkered table cloth.

  5. I love your organized bookshelf!! I also love diet Coke. As for red in your classroom...how about using Clifford the big red dog as an inspiration. You could do a dog theme. Just a thought! Love your blog. I am your newest follower. Come check out my blog at www.welcometofirstgraderoom5.blogspot.com

  6. Thanks for the red suggestions! I have thought apples and I have l several things, but haven't gone full out. Thought of polka dots too. Flowers are cute but as the mom of 2 boys I tend to stay away from flowers. Clifford is a new suggestion:). Hmmm... I will keep you updated. Thanks for all the suggestions!

  7. Oh, duh. I should've thought of Chevron stripes! You could also do stripes or polka dots. Or maybe a pirate theme?? Or nautical (although that's more navy with red accents)! Hmm...
